Parents would like assistance in receiving alarms that can be used for their windows and exit doors to their home to prevent their 4 year old child who is at high risk of elopement from exiting the home. The family lives in a busy area with high traffic.

Family is in need of beds to stay in their new home. Mother and her three children (ages 10, 2 and newborn) have just left an emergency shelter placement to their new home! The families last barrier was finding stable housing, now they have achieved that! Items needed: Crib frame and mattress twin bed x2 mattress full x1 mattresses

Family is in need of personal hygiene products and school uniforms for two young young children. A gift card would be best for the family to get their correct sizes and products. Any help is appreciated!

Resource recently took in child to prevent foster care placement. Resource has cared for the child previously and provided clothes to the parents when she went home. Parents are not giving clothes to the resource for the child and resource does not have the extra funds to spare at this time to buy more clothes for the child. Child is a 4 year old girl who like Frozen/Baby Yoda/Beauty and the Beast and wears a size 6T. Clothing or a gift card to Target/Walmart would be appreciated.

Children are placed with Maternal Grandma through court due to drug use and lack of housing by mom. Grandma has expressed that she needs a break or can no longer continue to care for these children. We have set up overnight visits with their paternal grandmother and father to help maternal grandma and make it possible to maintain the children's placement. In order to have the kids sleepover, the paternal grandmother needs a place for the children to sleep. Air mattresses would be ideal because they can be deflated and put away when the children are not there. Bedding would be appreciated as well.

single mother with four children all are females. two teenagers in the home. two teenagers are not getting along and are constantly fighting over who is stealing each others belongings. the two teenagers are constantly fighting in front of the younger children and mom is trying to intervene as best as she can. mom wants the girls to all get along. needing a teen locker box so the teens can put their make up and other hygiene products in the locker box to prevent the others from being able to go into their rooms and steal what the other sister might have. mom does not want to have locks on the doors especially for the older one who has serious emotional issues. mom is also in need of a more sturdier medication lock box. the oldest has gotten ahold of medication and there has been a suicide attempt. mom needs a medical lock box that is bigger and sturdier to hold all of the medications within the home to ensure that the children are safe.

Single mother of 4 has one child diagnosed with autism and adhd. Child elopes frequently. Mom has been homeless for a while and has not been able to ensure child's safety while in transition. Mom has recently secured permanent housing, and we are looking for security gadgets to keep the home secure for her child and prevent future CPS involvement due to eloping.

Mom has five children, ages 14, 10, 8, 6 and 5. Four of the five have special needs. Their car recently had the tires slashed while it was parked in the driveway! This makes getting to appointments and out to the park, etc., very challenging. The family also has to move in the next month and needs the car to go look at and apply for housing.

Monroe County Child Protective Services works with many youths and teens who may be struggling with mental health issues as a result of previous trauma or other reasons. As a result, we often discuss with families about the importance of locking up medications and sharp objects as a precautionary measure to keep teens safe from possible self-harm. We do this in conjunction with helping a family access mental health treatment in the community. Having medium to large size lock boxes to provide to families if they cannot afford these on their own is an essential tool to support families in keeping their kids safe.

Child has MH concerns and has been violent in the past, mom has been directed to lock up sharps and medications. She is unable to obtain or afford a lock box but is wanting to be able to lock up sharps. We are looking for a lock box that is large enough for kitchen knives and multiple medication bottles. Lock box would improve the safety of both the child and mother.
